Danielle – Senior Portraits Headshots

Senior Portrait Photo Session With Danielle

We had an awesome time with Danielle and her senior portraits headshot. She came straight from school around 4:00 pm and was ready to start her portrait session.  This high school senior had a bit of a drive but made it ok to our portrait studio. Her Mom came with her so she could help her get dressed in her favorite outfits. The colors she chose for her portraits were awesome. She wanted closer-up headshots so we took some of those too. The end results of the pictures were outstanding. It was a pleasure to have her in our studio.  See more senior portrait samples

Is There Anything Else?

Oh, Contact us and tell us what kind of photography you’re looking for. We’ve pretty much heard a lot of requests for various types of photo sessions. More than likely we can do it for you with just a little imagination.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to take senior photos outdoors:

  1. Plan and Prepare:
    • Discuss with the senior about their vision, preferences, and style for the photoshoot. Understand their personality and interests to personalize the experience.
    • Select a location that complements the senior’s style and preferences. It could be a park, garden, urban area, beach, or any other outdoor setting that offers a variety of backdrops and natural elements.
    • Consider the time of day for the shoot. Early morning or late afternoon typically offers the best natural lighting conditions with soft and warm tones.
  2. Scout the Location:
    • Visit the chosen location ahead of time to familiarize yourself with the surroundings and identify potential spots for photography.
    • Look for diverse backgrounds, textures, and natural elements that can add depth and interest to the photos.
  3. Communicate and Collaborate:
    • Before the photoshoot, have a conversation with the senior to explain your creative ideas, pose suggestions, and any specific shots you plan to capture.
    • Encourage the senior to share their own ideas and poses they may have in mind. Collaboration and open communication will help create a comfortable and enjoyable environment.
  4. Utilize Natural Lighting:
    • Outdoor photography relies heavily on natural light. Position the senior in areas where the light is flattering, such as under the shade of a tree or facing away from direct sunlight to avoid harsh shadows.
    • Experiment with different angles and compositions to take advantage of the available light and create interesting lighting effects.
  5. Choose Complementary Outfits:
    • Encourage the senior to wear outfits that reflect their style, personality, and the location. Consider the colors, patterns, and textures that will complement the natural surroundings and enhance the overall aesthetic.
  6. Capture Candid Moments:
    • While posed shots are important, also capture candid moments that showcase the senior’s genuine emotions and personality. Encourage them to interact with the environment, walk, laugh, or engage in activities they enjoy.
  7. Experiment with Composition and Perspective:
    • Explore different angles, perspectives, and compositions to add variety and visual interest to the photos. Shoot from low angles, incorporate natural framing elements, or utilize leading lines to create dynamic compositions.
  8. Pay Attention to Details:
    • Focus on capturing the details that make the senior unique, such as close-up shots of their eyes, hands, accessories, or personal items.
    • Capture shots that highlight their individuality, hobbies, or achievements, such as playing a musical instrument or engaging in a sport.
  9. Post-Processing:
    • After the photoshoot, review and select the best images for editing. Use photo editing software to enhance colors, adjust exposure, and refine the overall look while maintaining a natural and timeless feel.

Remember, the most important aspect of senior photos is to capture the senior’s personality and create a memorable experience. Stay flexible, be open to spontaneous moments, and encourage the senior to express themselves freely during the shoot. Enjoy the process and let the natural beauty of the outdoor setting shine through in the images. Visit our professional photography website for more of our work examples.
